Smart Start ELDC have carefully considered the wellbeing and ongoing learning development for children within the centre.

Smart Start ELDC has adapted a 2 day minimum requirement as part of the service enrolment policy.

Enrolments for funded 4 year old Kindergarten requires a 3 day minimum enrolment.

At Smart Start ELDC our 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten is structured Monday - Friday between 9am - 3pm.

Prior and beyond these times, the service continues to provide a learning environment in the same environment that caters the abilities, emerging interests and school readiness approach to learning.

As part of Victoria’s Free Kinder initiative, long day care services receive government funding (currently $2,101 per child per year or a pro-rated amount for Three-Year-Old Kinder attending less than 15 hours per week). This amount is used to directly offset families’ out-of-pocket fees for their funded kindergarten place.

The funding is applied regularly across the year on a termly basis —to ensure that all eligible families receive the benefit throughout their billing cycle to act as an offset to the overall gap fee.
